Positioned within the cylinder head, the exhaust valve opens and closes at specific intervals, synchronized with the engine's piston movements. As the piston reaches the end of the power stroke and begins its upward movement on the exhaust stroke, the exhaust valve opens, enabling the release of combustion by-products.
